Paola Cabistany on the Bestard Wildwater Pro
In which areas have you tested the boot?
I have been doing approximately 25 canyons with the Bestard Wildwater Pro in the Aragonese Pyrenees, French Pyrenees, and Sierra de Guara.
Adhesion?
I was pleasantly surprised in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées and Chistau Valley areas where some of the descents are especially slippery. Bestard has nothing to envy of the adhesion of other brands. Where others slipped, I did not.
During the course of this test I discovered that I was pregnant and I assure you that if after knowing this news I felt that they did not have enough adhesion I would not have worn them. Six of the canyons were knowing about the pregnancy and in all the canyons it turns out that I was already pregnant.
Durability?
A shoe that after 25 canyons is practically as good as the first day.
Drainage?
I find drainage to be positive in ravines with temperatures that are not excessively cold.
Support?
Ankle support is very good.
Thermal protection?
The feet did not boil, which is wonderful for the last descents that I made in less watery conditions in the Sierra de Guara area.
In very cold canyons, such as Barrosa, a simple descent in which the water is constantly renewed by the drainage system of the footwear is somewhat uncomfortable taking into account the temperature.
Conclusions
I can describe it as a 4×4 boot, all terrain, with its advantages and disadvantages like all footwear, but which ultimately meets expectations very well.
